COMMUNITY DIVISION

movement for every body

The Community Division at The Dancer Project was created to make dance accessible, welcoming, and meaningful for movers of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities.

Whether returning to dance, stepping into the studio for the first time, or seeking adaptive movement education in a supportive environment, our programs are rooted in connection, creativity, and community.

We believe dance should be inclusive, empowering, and available to everyone.

PROGRAM OFFERINGS

ADAPTIVE DANCE

Adaptive Dance at The Dancer Project Conservatory creates inclusive movement experiences for dancers with diverse abilities, support needs, and learning styles in a welcoming and encouraging environment.

Classes are designed to support creativity and self-expression, confidence and social connection, coordination an, musicality, sensory-friendly movement exploration

Programming is led by an educator with an Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) background and over five years of experience specifically in adaptive dance education, creating classes that are thoughtful, supportive, and individualized to each dancer’s needs.

An intake assessment is required prior to enrollment in Adaptive Dance to ensure appropriate class placement and support for each dancer.

The intake is an opportunity for your dancer and family to become familiar with our studio, meet the instructor, and experience the class in a relaxed, welcoming environment. During this visit, we will:

  • Tour the studio and classroom space

  • Observe how your dancer responds to the class environment

  • Discuss your dancer's strengths, interests, and goals

  • Review any support, communication, mobility, or sensory needs

  • Learn about strategies that help your dancer feel successful

  • Answer any questions you may have about the program

  • Determine together whether the class is the best fit for your dancer

ADULT Dance

Whether you're stepping into the studio for the first time, returning to ballet after years away, or looking to continue your training, The Dancer Project Conservatory offers a welcoming environment for adult dancers of all experience levels.

Our adult program includes:

  • Adult Ballet (Beginner/Intermediate) – A supportive class for beginners and returning dancers focused on building a strong technical foundation.

  • Adult Ballet (Intermediate/Advanced) – Designed for experienced dancers seeking to refine technique, artistry, and strength.

  • Community Jazz – An energetic, fun-filled class open to adults of all experience levels.

For experienced dancers looking for additional training, adults may also drop into select intermediate and advanced conservatory classes—including ballet, contemporary, conditioning, and other offerings—with instructor approval. This provides the opportunity to continue challenging yourself while training alongside dedicated dancers in a professional and encouraging environment.

Whether your goal is fitness, artistry, performance, or simply the joy of dancing, we invite you to join our community and keep your passion for dance alive.
